Terms of Service
Simple terms for a parent-supervised children's learning app.
Last updated: July 2026
Acceptance
By installing or using Kidhoot, a parent or guardian accepts these terms for themselves and for children using the app under their supervision. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
The parent or guardian must have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction.
The Service
Kidhoot is a free, offline-first educational app intended primarily for ages 2β6. It offers multilingual activities, local progress and badges, optional cloud backup, and voice playback. The age setting is advisory and does not lock or pace content.
Kidhoot is currently available on Android and the Web. The Web version has some documented limits, and a native iOS app is not currently offered.
Licence & Acceptable Use
Kidhoot grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence for private, non-commercial learning. You may not resell, redistribute, reverse-engineer, attack, bypass access controls, abuse cloud voice or backup services, or use the app unlawfully.
Accounts, Backup & Exports
No account is required for the main learning activities. A parent may link an email for recovery and backup. The parent is responsible for access to that email and for safeguarding exported files.
A local export can include profile, settings, progress, and a locally stored ElevenLabs key. Online backup does not include that key. Data deletion and export controls are in Settings.
Third-Party Services
Firebase supports optional authentication and backup; Sentry processes essential sanitized fatal diagnostics and optional additional diagnostics; Cloudflare and ElevenLabs generate missing voice audio; and Expo distributes updates. Provider availability and terms also apply to those functions.
Availability & Updates
Included lessons can work offline, but backup, account recovery, updates, missing online voice audio, and direct ElevenLabs require a connection and may be temporarily unavailable. Features may change when Kidhoot is updated.
Educational Disclaimer & Liability
Kidhoot supports learning but does not promise a particular educational outcome and does not replace parental involvement or professional advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided as is and liability for indirect or consequential loss is excluded. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
Changes & Contact
We may update these terms when the app or law changes. We will revise the date above and may provide an in-app notice for material changes. Continued use after an effective update means acceptance of the revised terms.
