Getting Started
Kidhoot teaches through short spoken activities with large, child-friendly controls. English, French, and Italian are available.
1. Install or open Kidhoot
- Android: install Kidhoot from Google Play.
- Web: open app.kidhoot.com in a current browser. You can also add it to your home screen.

2. Create the child profile
The first-time introduction asks you to choose:
- The app language
- The child's name
- The child's age
- An avatar
The age is for the profile only. It does not lock activities or automatically change their difficulty. You can change all profile choices later in Settings.
3. Choose an activity
The home screen groups available activities by topic. Tap an unlocked activity to begin. Some activities unlock after an earlier one is completed; activities marked Coming soon are not available yet.
Most activities have two parts:
- Learn: Kidhoot introduces each item.
- Practice: your child chooses an answer and receives friendly feedback.
After completing an activity once, a Skip to test button may be available on future plays. If multilingual exercises are enabled, Kidhoot first asks which language to use.
4. Celebrate progress
Completing an activity earns its animal badge. If some questions were missed, Kidhoot may offer a short, optional bonus round for extra practice.
Completing activities also advances the child's level. Tap the level beside the child's name to see the level journey, or open My Badges to view earned and locked badges.
Completing the same supported activity in two enabled languages earns a permanent World Badge. Resetting that activity removes its progress and badges.
5. Open parent controls
Tap the settings icon on the home screen and complete the simple parent check. Parents can then update the profile, languages, voice, privacy choices, backup, and progress views.
The ? button replays the on-screen guide when help is available.
